Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is the second studio album by American indie rock band Pavement, released on February 14, 1994, by Matador Records.

Slacker rock. What is it? It’s cloudy afternoons, guitars hung low and too many strings being hit accidentally, very loose rhythms, general indifference towards sounding “tight”, bad singers. This album feels like an earnest argument for juvenile laziness coming from a couch itself. It is dark and relaxed, only showing hints of humid sunlight on songs like “Gold Soundz” and “Range Life”. Stephen Malkmus is not a very technically good singer, but his lyrics and emotion grant him incredible credibility that make him perfect not only as the face of Pavement but cool idleness as a whole.
