An Archaeology of the Present: a Contemporary Approach to Urban Photography
In a workshop based on four photowalks, participants will practice photographing the urban, built environment and documenting the signs of the human presence on it. Contemporary archaeologists and social documentarians, we’ll develop our aesthetic appreciation for the beauty in the mundane, gaining a heightened awareness of the timelessness of light and shadow the photograph preserves and makes visible. Walking and taking photographs, we’ll clear our minds and let go of stress, present in the moment and open to the aesthetic potential of all that we see before us.
