During each of the 28 days of February 2019, Roberto Mata’s School of Photography will publish a photographic assignment via @RMTF at 8:00 p.m. The contest will begin on January 31st and end on February 28that midnight.
Contestants will have 28 hours to produce the best image for each assigned topic and publish on their personal IG accounts with the hashtags: #UnaFotoxDíax28Días (this identifies and guarantees participation) and #2019RMTF28Días1 (this identifies the day participated).
The deadline for each assignment will be 12:00 midnight, Caracas time, the day after the assignment has been posted.
The quality of the photography, the concept, and the content are all determinants in the final evaluation. It will be acceptable to utilize third party pictures or recycle old pictures belonging to the owner, with the purpose of giving it a new purpose, creating a new image, by altering or combining them with new ones. It is important that the recycled image becomes a new one, be it by the way that it is captured or altered in postproduction.
Participants must use only one Instagram account throughout the 28 days. Entering with multiple accounts is grounds for dismissal.
Images must not have watermarks.
Each contestant is permitted to publish only one photo per assignment. Publishing several photos will also be grounds for dismissal.
Participants’ accounts cannot be set to private. If you prefer to keep your account private, we suggest creating a new, public account for the contest. Private accounts cannot be evaluated by the jury and therefore will be disqualified.
We invite participants to try to maintain a theme or concept throughout the 28 days of the contest, either from a thematic, conceptual, serial or aesthetic point of view. Any type of equipment that registers images or photographic equipment is permitted. Any edition or postproduction of images is also permitted.
#UnaFotoxDíax28Días is an international invitation and celebration of the diversity of nationalities and regions of our planet. Everyone is welcome, but please remember that the deadline for each assignment is 12:00 midnight, Caracas time.
The contest is free! The only requirements are to enter the contest by January 31st, write the correspondent hashtags, follow the contest sponsors’ Instagram accounts, and keep the enthusiasm!
Only those participants that finish ALL 28 assignments within the time allotted per assignment will be considered at the end. Being late, not fulfilling a requirement, or not posting a picture on any given day is also grounds for dismissal.
At the end of the contest, participants will receive instructions and an email address where all images must be sent so the jury can evaluate the work. It is imperative that no publication or photography is deleted.
RMTF staff from Caracas or Roberto Mata School of Photography staff in Miami is allowed to participate, but not to compete. Staff must use the hashtag #STAFFRMTFFueradeCompetencia.
Winners will be announced on April 7, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. on the @RMTF account.
